How not to panic during the war. Advice from a psychologist

1. Refer to the dichotomy of control – this is the division of things under our control and those that we can not influence. You should consider several algorithms for different scenarios – this will help get rid of panic behavior and add confidence.

2. Do not deprive yourself of things that bring pleasure , even small, and soothe. It can be coffee or reading a book.

3. Exercise. Exercise allows you to produce more serotonin and promotes better sleep. The more we fear, the more we spend resources on overcoming anxiety. Good sleep, satiety and exercise are the key to stress resistance.

4. Manage your information intake. Choose a few official sources and media that you trust, evaluate the information soberly and pause while reading the news. Pauses for physical activity, food, hobbies, etc.

5. And most importantly – do not be left alone with your own experiences. If possible, reunite with family and family, share your feelings, and follow tips 1-4 together. Take care of yourself and your loved ones. Everything will be fine!
