Cerebral Palsy (CP) Fundraiser
Unfortunately, CP is incurable, however, some of the symptoms can be managed to ensure better quality of life. Time is very important when it comes to the treatment, the earlier it is started, the better of success it has. Cerebral palsy remains one of the most common disabilities among children.
Project
Antonina Jankowska (5 years old)
Tonya was born too early, at 26 weeks, and weighed only 680 g. She is struggling with drug-resistant epilepsy, West syndrome. In early 2020, Tonya was diagnosed with autism. She has a significant problem with eye contact and primary reflexes. Diagnosis: West Syndrome. Psychomotor retardation. Prematurity (Hbd 26)
Medical attention
Tonya needs multi-specialized intensive rehabilitation sessions with a psychologist, neurologist, and speech therapist. Sensory integration and motor rehabilitation are required.
The Jankowski family has difficulty finding money for treatment, so the parents applied to our charitable foundation for help. Since March 2022, Antonina has become our ward.
During this time, we were able to organize and pay for six rounds of rehabilitation and see the improvement in her physical condition:
- She can now bend and lift her legs almost without any assistance
- She keeps her balance in a horizontal position for a long time
- She can now hold and move her arms by herself
- She was able to say her first words.
